Committees
We are still trying to form a Beautification Committee and need volunteers who would like to work in the dirt planting annuals, etc. to enhance our community. Contact any Director to volunteer your services.
Annette Williams and Sheila Feller have volunteered to work on the Party Committee. More volunteers are needed and we hope some of you will give of your time to make our parties a success. Contact any Board member for more information.
Halloween Party
The Halloween Party was a great success. There were over fifty people in attendance many in costumes. Games were available for the children as well as Firrt, Second and Third Place winners in both Girls and Boys Division for best costumes. It was a difficult chore to chose the "best" as all costumes were great. Thanks to the judges for a job well done and CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners. Annette, Sheila,
Barbara and Craig did a great job. The food was excellently cooked, hope you didn't miss the punch and the candy was plentiful. A fantastic job and kudos to the Committee. I hope we can count of you for next year.
Let's give some thought about doing something for Christmas. Maybe a party for the children, a party for the adults, or a cookie swap. Anyone interested in heading up the committee please contact Karen Griffin at 954-571-8355.
Budget
Everyone should have received a copy of the proposed budget. Please notice there is no change in Maintenance Fees for next year! The Board is trying to cut costs and save as much money as possible while still maintaining the quality of life we are all used to here at Discovery Pointe. Please give us a chance to work for you to make this a friendly place to live. The Board appreciates the support given us in the past few months and we look forward to your continued support while we try to improve our quality of like here in the community.
Welcoming Committee
Connie Avantino is heading up the welcoming committee for new homeowners. She could use some help, so if you are genuinely interested in welcoming new homeowners please volunteer your services. You can call Karen at the number above to volunteer.
After studying our Documents it has been determined that renter's will no longer be screened by the Welcoming Committee as we have no control over their stay in the community. All official contact with a renter must be made through the homeowner leasing the unit.
The homeowner must enforce the rules with his tenant and be liable to the community in behalf of his tenant.
